Stirred but not shaken

The curtains are drawn to stop the strong, scowling sun from coming in but what is this, I suddenly hear clouds roll by, wind whistling through trees, leaves being shuffled across concrete, doors and windows beginning to bang and the thundering clouds keep on rolling again and again and again. It might rain...I’m getting so excited just thinking about it. The light must have softened to a low grin now...I must go out.
....but it was all in vain....it did not rain today.

What a beautiful description of the excited anticipation of a summer rain shower. I'm so sorry you were disappointed by the weather in the end.

You ought to learn the rain dance love, its works here :)tell you what I'll do one specially for you and hope and pray the rains come your way, the heat must surely be unbearable. The hottest I've ever experienced is about 34 and I honestly thought I was going to die.

Mein sochti rahi, shayad ab barse ye ghataa,
Shayad dhool se kuch kum ho ye roshni,

Per saari aashayein vyarth gayi,
aaj phir Barkha na hui.

"leaves being shuffled across concrete"

if rain were a person, it would love reading that line over and over.

We got some cool summer showers y'day in Blore accompanied with lots of thunder and lightning uprooting trees and disrupting power supply.

One thing guaranteed about living in Britain is that if you expect it to rain -- it does!

I'll be waiting 'to hear clouds roll by' next time it get's stormy here.

The weather has been so unpredictable this whole year. I mean, last winter, Mumbai was like unusually cold and I predicted that the summer would be really hot. Dont know whats in store for us next!

Sue, thank you, twice! :):)

Sk8RN, thanks :)...well the showers will come eventually...they always do.

M, i'm sure that will scare him/her off...thanks! and i won't say popular but yes its a joy to me to come across interesting people who are intelligent and kind and that includes you. :)

We're heading into our dry season here, Gulnaz. We don't get monsoons like you do.

I can just imagine the excitement you will feel when you smell the scent of the wet dust approaching you. I love that odor.

We used to say the childhood rhyme: Rain, rain go away. Come again another day.

As an adult, I find I can enjoy the rain.

Neel, hey that is a brilliant and apt metaphor for moonsoons and i love both tigers and moonsoons. saw a white tiger once, in a zoo, it is still stuck in my mind. thanks for visiting. :)

that line leaves rubbing against the concrete... what a vision.

I saw the white tigers in Las Vegas while Siegfried and Roy were still doing their show, but I think the tigers must have been fed up so they bit Roy.
