morning comes

slight breeze
pink blossoms
quiver.
.....
raindrops
collected in puddles
trap fallen leaves
......
blades of grass
flush
with dawn kisses
.......
dawn
spreads silver
arms - mercy
......

How poetic and gentle this piece was! The words "quiver" and "flush" keep echoing long after you have finished reading the poem. Well written, once again!

:-)

Glad you got your rain in the end, a beautiful poem so simple but carefully crafted, my favourite line is
'dawn
spreads silver
arms - mercy'
it sums up so well the blessing of water where it is scarce

this is such sweet poetry. short and sweet and girlish and innocent. it could be in pigtails, i'm not sure.

Gulnaz!! I just tried out that bithdate thing that you posted earlier on your site. Wow, I cant believe it was pretty damn accurate, maybe a tad exaggerated but what I loved the most was that most of it was all positive! hehe Im so happy now....

Loved the last line! All things waiting for warmth, for light, for the sun.

How erotic and yet sweetly romantic combining the romanticism of breezes, raindrops, fallen leaves, dawn, blades of grass with the sensual quiver, flush, and spread. Love it.

Sweety, you get a toffee for coming first, :) thank You, milady. :)

CJ, now you are teasing me...:) thanks!

Nicki, thanks sweetheart was trying to be honest.
about the b'day: I'm sure it was all true, you come across as such a genuine sweetheart and i'm good with my instincts about people...really i am. :)

Akruti, good you got the rains, i live in a miserable little town in UP. if i were in hyd...i'd have been at your home by now to see your lovely garden....post a pic of the gulmohar tree, please, please, please.

Missy no :( the rain part was from memory and the rest was largely because i was up walking in the lawn at 4 in the morning, 'coz i couldnt sleep all night, power failure too...and then i saw the sky getting lighter..

.:A:., you get a hug for that and a big, big smile too! :)

Sue, we havent still got the rains, i mix up past present and future in writing. Thanks for your sweet words..:)

Transience, thanks...i like the idea of it in pigtails and i'll tie it with bows of pink ribbon, too. so glad you liked it.

mermaidYes and the sun does come and with it the warmth and the light.

Sk8RN, ah you caught me! :)...thanks!

I especially like this one because you used my middle name, Dawn, a couple of times. How selfish of me!

Love the gentle poetry of this one. Specially loved the lines
"blades of grass
flush
with dawn kisses"
Makes me think of waking up to the suandhi gandh wafting through my open windows, walking out to be greeted by the grass wet from the night's dew and the first sunrays peeking through the clouds..ah mornings can be so romantic can't they?
So did it finally rain? Here they are predicting that rains will be late by nearly a week, and knowing Pune that means nearly a fortnight! Sigh...

iamnasra, thank you!!
i wonder if it will pass the rules of haiku but i don't bother with rules, partly out of laziness and partly out of ignorance. I love nature, well sounds silly saying it, but it gives me pleasure.

finnegan, thank you so much...i'm so touched!!
i love going to yours too.

Tarun, thanks, i'm dreaming about rain though it is yet to come.

Jamie Dawn, Dawn is such a pretty name! I know someone who named their daughter, sehrish, which means the cool breeze which blows at dawn. so this one is for you. ;)

Roger Stevens, Thanks, I am glad you liked it....mercy...yes i like that word, it resonates with me.

Neel Sen, thank you, thank you! :)

Geetanjali, no rains, i am begining to fantasise abuot it. lol. the moonsoons start from down south, so the sooner you will get the sooner well get it. it rained in hyd. yesterday, wrote akruti, so you should be getting it.
and hey thanks for your appreciation...always wanted. :)

such a sweet piece, with the fragrance of thoughts and innocence.
Like how you wake up smiling on some days, thoughts of a dream caressing your tresses.
