grimy gritty glass

everything within you is gold
everything without you is sold
in vain, i love you, i'm told
damn you - you are hard and cold

....I'm damned if I don't make you lick these tears!
and so she swore, biting down her lip.

Looks like somebody is too hurt and waiting for revenge.

At hurtful as it may appear... to love anyone is never done in vain. You may never get what you want in return but you always get something, often the most powerful lessons in life are learnt this way, lessons about yourself. Have faith , angel, and what is yours will come in time.
Just spead those wings of love and continue to be the way you are..

Now, that doesn't look like gold.. more like bronze? Does it matter anyway? It rhymes better with gold yea. And... looking at the pic.. reminds me of chocolate bars. Oh.. silly me.

Just felt like commenting.

Keep it going.

Beautiful poem - certainly makes you think. I love the tear-licking reference! I was so moved the first time someone licked my tears from my eyes!

True anger emerging as lava in this poem. Where's the water? Wait, I'll bring it. I wish I could, Gulnaz. Even the delicate flower can have thorns.

a hard, edgy, sexy deviation from your usual delicate poetry. i love the contrast in style, gulnaz. and the fact that the verse i so succinct makes it even more powerful.

Neel said...

Yes, very edgy, but very heartfelt. I hope you are feeling better.

Lovely poem. It works with the picture, too.

Most of the comments seem to be about the anger expressed in the poem - but the image of licking the tears is quite sensual. Maybe your comment needs to become a second verse to the poem...

Anger and love are all the same really, If I don't care much about some one I can't be bothered to be angry with them. A strong poem and a good friend into which to vent your anger.
