Thanks Finnegan

Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely
and with too high a spirit to be
cumbered with your old nonsense.
This day is all that is good and fair.
It is too dear, with it's hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

That you are fair or wise is vain,
Or strong, or rich, or generous;
You must have also the untaught strain
That sheds beauty on the rose.

(from Emmerson's 'Fate')....

good choice in poets
:-)

Gulnaz, that poem is one that I pull out from time to time. It always does the trick. I figured it would for you too dear.

VW hakkkyzl (you do something with this one gulnaz!)

Thank you Gulnaz & Finnegan. An effective pick-me-up (with a warm cup of cocoa and a cuddle from that special someone!)

I'll add this to my list of favorite poems. Well, at least to the inspirational ones then.

The trick is to actually implement the words. Often I find that despite knowing what I should do, I still revert back to doing someting I shouldn't. But it doesn't mean I ever stop trying, and these kind of poems and reminders only help.
Thanks :)

hakkyzl, that is the name of an anciet priest who roamed the deserts of arabia in search of a purple flower. the flower if burnt when mars is aligned with venus produced vapors so transcedental that a bliss quite unlike any was yours till your breathed your last. for this precious flower hakkyzl was called both a mad man and the servant of the devil. one night he was turned out by his brother because the brother could not bear the taunts of his village anymore . he sat under the cold distant moon, shivering and praying when he fainted. he felt sorry for his brother but he was hungry too and his heart broke. he fainted from a broken heart they say. he did not come around but when the found him, they also found purple flowers growing in abundance at his feet.

Manjusha- i'm glad you liked it, i always enjoy the selection at your blog.

Melly- its a constant struggle and you are not the only one who finds it difficult to implement the words but honey we gotta keep trying...what other option do we have. :) btw, thanks for coming by hope you will visit agian.

Hakkkyzl
Oh, your poetic painting of Hakkkyzl is so good that I've decided to make a shrine of purple flowers surrounding my favorite pair of "Hakky Boots@".

"...Yea, I say unto thee, nary a pair of clod-hoppers have been endowed with such impregnated odoriferousness! Hast thou ever wonder'd what mighteth occur if thou decideth to actually wash thy damned feet?"

No? Well then you shall be forsaken! Here is thy punishment for 6 eternities of odd-ball word verification:
Namely: amkookn

finn- i shall be worshipped for my feet are washed with rose water. hehe shoes and books they always take you places you have never been before and i love both.

amkookn- that sir is written on the aprons of the trendiest guys cooking up magic in their kitchens. 'am cookin!' (tonight, so sit back and enjoy the feat that shall be laid at your feet!) hehe

very true, it is wasteful to live in yesterday's memories, today is a brand new beautiful day, full of opportunities.
