streetlight

trims with silver

blades of grass

at my feet

their wetness

sprays my ankles

i need you

to wet my mind

lightning pulses

silently

i wait for thunder

nighttime

nighttime silent
i listen-
sounds of my breath

dawn alights
soaked in prayer
the night dissolves

mid-shabaan moon
lifted with prayers
all night

Note: shabaan is the current islamic month and the night of 14th shabaan holds special significance for muslims in terms of being a very holy night, it is spent in prayers till dawn.
